A pre-publish checklist for AI ecommerce product photos
A polished image still needs to describe the item a customer will actually receive. Use this checklist before replacing a listing photo.
1. Keep a reference
Save the original product photo beside each generated version. Compare the silhouette, label text, logo placement, color, texture, and included accessories. Reject any version that changes the product.
2. Give each image one job
Use a simple background when the goal is identification. Use a studio treatment to show materials and shape. Use a lifestyle scene only when it helps explain scale or context; avoid props that look like included items.
3. Check at two sizes
Inspect edges and small lettering at full size, then review the image as a phone-sized thumbnail. The product should remain recognizable without relying on tiny text.
4. Export and review
Keep a high-quality master, compress a separate web copy, and check the destination marketplace’s current image requirements. Compare the final uploaded image with the original once more.
