Edge Review Checklist for Authorized Image Cleanup

Removing a small unwanted mark from an image you own is only half of the job. The repair also has to preserve the structure around the edited area. Use this checklist before exporting a cleaned image.

Inspect at 100% zoom

• Look for halos around the former mark.
• Check straight lines for bends or discontinuities.
• Compare repeated textures on both sides of the repair.
• Review faces, fingers, lettering, reflections, and fabric at full size.

Compare with the untouched source

Keep the original file unchanged and place the result beside it. A repair may look smooth by itself while still changing color, contrast, or texture in a way that becomes obvious during comparison.

Use the smallest practical mask

Large masks force the model to reconstruct more pixels than necessary. Start with a narrow selection, review the result, and expand only when edge remnants remain. Preserve rights and provenance

Do not remove attribution, licensing notices, signatures, or ownership marks from material you do not control. Save the original, the edited copy, and a brief note explaining why the edit was authorized.
